Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained so we can answer it. We keep the message within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive routine technical data when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The referring website, when available
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and our analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which pages are used most and where visits end. A browser can block cookies, although some website functions may then work differently.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Clayton County guidance points to the sheriff, Iowa District Court, Iowa DCI, Iowa DOC, and the Iowa Sex Offender Registry as the official custodians. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal-history file.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention rules, and sharing practices apply to data entered there. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, law-enforcement offices, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal data.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and site performance
- Search partners processing a query sent through their tool
- Advertising networks placing ads on the website
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order

Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If such data is identified, a deletion request may be made.

Applicable law may provide rights over personal data. Iowa public-record access is governed by the Iowa Open Records Law, chapter 22, while criminal-history dissemination and challenge rights are addressed in Iowa Code chapter 692. Subject to the law and the data actually held, a visitor may:
